Under the supervision of the Warehouse Director, we are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to manage the daily operations, including personnel management, addressing operational challenges, and overseeing order preparation, shipping, and receiving. Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders to meet deadlines.
- Supervise stock levels and coordinate with the purchasing team.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain an organized, clean warehouse in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Resolve operational issues, such as delays, damaged goods, or staff shortages.
- Supervise and provide feedback to 5 laborers and 5 drivers, including scheduling and task delegation.
- Identify areas for improvement in warehouse processes and implement changes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Maintain quality control measures to ensure materials are handled properly.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve any fulfillment issues.
- Oversee warehouse machinery, tools, and vehicles to ensure maintenance and prevent breakdowns.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical training in mechanics, metallurgy, materials, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in the metal or mechanical manufacturing industry and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Computer proficiency and forklift certification.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Montreal and surrounding areas.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in spoken and written French (English is an asset).
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Work Environment Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and tackle new challenges as they arise.
