The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating material receiving activities and supervising the local Material Handler team to ensure the execution of daily plans, training, and coverage. This hands-on role contributes to the overall success of the business by providing superior customer service and fostering a strong team environment .

Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of Material Handlers in shipping, receiving, storing, and maintaining inventories of materials.
- Ensure daily and weekly productivity and department targets are met or exceeded.
- Ensure all orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
- Establish work schedules and procedures, resolve work-related issues, prepare and submit progress reports, and co-ordinate activities with other departments.
- Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Create requisition supplies and materials.
- Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment, and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
- Support department people processes such as recruitment, terminations, and performance management.
- Update orders with appropriate information to provide information more quickly and easily to customers.
- Perform the same duties as workers supervised, such as:
- Creating daily tracking forms and ensuring they are completed on a timely basis and balanced accurately.
- Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety policies are always followed throughout the warehouse and the rest of the facility.
- Coordinating the flow of materials in and out of the facility.
- Ensuring delivery docket matches what has been loaded onto the customer’s truck.
- Unloading containers which arrive daily and scanning receipts according to procedure.
- Loading and unloading semi-trailers for transfer of stock to or from other branches, accurately recording stock on Inbound Product Report.
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly.
- Participating in monthly inventory counts.
- Conducting daily equipment inspections.
- Cleaning/maintaining the warehouse and yard.
- Any other duties which may be required from time to time.
Qualifications
- Professional presentation, work ethic, and behavior.
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a warehouse environment, specifically in the stone industry (quartz, granite, marble, porcelain).
- Strong supervisory capabilities in people management.
- Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures, and other operational issues faced by the organization.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management, and customers.
