Responsibilities
-NIGHT SHIFT ROLE
-7 on 7 off shift
-Design, configure, and program Triconex Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) for oil and gas process safety applications.
-Develop Functional Safety Plans, Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), and implement Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) in line with IEC 61508/61511 standards.
-Lead the engineering and integration of SIS with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other safety systems within oil and gas facilities.
-Conduct hazard and risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) to establish and refine safety system requirements.
-Provide technical support during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of Triconex systems.
-Ensure adherence to industry standards, including IEC 61508/61511, API, and regulatory safety guidelines relevant to the oil and gas sector.
-Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Triconex SIS to maintain the highest level of safety and reliability for critical operations.
-Collaborate with project managers, process engineers, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
-Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Safety Function Testing (SFT) procedures, SIS validation plans, and maintenance guidelines.
-Conduct audits, testing, and maintenance activities for safety systems to ensure ongoing integrity.
-Train operators and site personnel on SIS functionality and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
-3 + years of experience working with Triconex or similar Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in the oil and gas industry.
-Strong knowledge of process safety systems, including the application of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and safety lifecycle management.
-Experience with integrating SIS into Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other process control platforms.
-Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 61508/61511, API, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
-Proficiency in performing risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) and implementing safety measures in critical operations.
-Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot SIS and DCS issues in high-pressure environments.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
-Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in industrial control systems is an asset.
