Reporting to the department Production Manager, this position is responsible for wiring, mounting and troubleshooting complex electrical components and sub-assemblies of Custom Switchboards. Mon to Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm (Day)
Mon to Fri, 3:30pm-12:00am (Afternoon)
In this Function You Will
-Read and interpret one-line diagrams and customer drawing packages.
-Determine how and where to run, connect and terminate wires for electrical devices on wiring pans and inside switchboard structures. (Common devices include breakers, meters, relays, sensors, PLCs, switches, CTs, sensors)
-Identify design issues in the provided schematics and raise them through the correct channels.
-Ensure proper voltage level separation, current levels and industry standard colour coding is maintained when organizing and wiring circuits within panels.
-Perform functional tests such as continuity checks and wire pull tests.
-Repair or rework issues detected during the inspection/test stage of the job.
-Work to CSA and UL code.
-Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN and MRB process.
-Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Skills
-Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools.
-Have an excellent attitude and commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement and teamwork.
-Have working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety operating procedures of a manufacturing facility.
-Able to accurately layout, mount, wire, and troubleshoot industrial power and control components.
-Understand various methods of connection and apply proper methods to the equipment you are building.
-Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment.
-Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
-Good PC skills, including MS office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
-Effective time management and project management skills.

Responsibilities
- Perform quality assembly and testing of various products.
- Assemble electrical products, including motor controls and circuit breakers.
- Support aftermarket products and enter time transactions using proprietary software systems.
- Visually inspect components and assemblies for defects.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics for assembly and troubleshooting.
- Complete assigned sub-assembly and wiring tasks.
- Maintain quality and calibration records, charts, and area performance.
- Receive direction from leaders and report issues promptly.
Qualifications
- 2-year diploma or equivalent in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering required.
- 1 year of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation technology required.
- Strong mechanical ability and control circuitry familiarity demonstrated.
- Knowledge of Statistical Quality Control Methods procedures.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and technical materials.
- Experience with hand tools.
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
- Knowledge of safety precautions for electrical and electronic equipment.
- Familiarity with company and competitor electrical, electronic, and mechanical products.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including oral, written, and listening abilities.
