Responsibilities
Manage capital projects, ensuring accurate cost recording and compliance with IFRS16.
Prepare monthly Fixed Asset and Debt continuity schedules, M forms, and annual Y forms.
Track and report balances for Assets Under Construction (AUC).
Perform month-end variance analysis for depreciation expenses and transfers.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
Support internal and external audits and complete monthly control procedures.
Collaborate with business unit controllers on asset depreciation and balance management.
Provide reports and schedules required for annual statutory reporting, corporate tax returns, and GST/PST audits.
Oversee lease accounting processes in SAP REFX and manage updates to lease contracts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or College Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data volumes.
Proficiency in SAP and BI tools is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex accounting issues for stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Familiarity with IFRS16 and capital asset reporting is an asset.
