Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, cost analysis, and inventory control specific to their manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
-Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports related to manufacturing operations, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and variance analysis.
-Monitor and report on manufacturing costs, ensuring they align with budgeted expectations.
-Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, focusing on manufacturing costs and production efficiency.
-Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
-Collaborate with production managers to analyze and control production costs and implement cost-saving measures.
-Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial statements.
-Maintain and improve accounting processes and controls related to manufacturing activities.
-Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by management.
Qualifications
-*MUST BE IN THE GREATER REGION OF MONTREAL TO APPLY*
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., CPA or equivalent
-Experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
-Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes and inventory.
-Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
-Bilingual in French and English
-Exceptional analytical abilities with a focus on identifying trends and discrepancies.
-Keen attention to detail, ensuring precision in all financial reports and analyses.
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating collaboration across teams.
-Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
