Responsibilities
The QA Engineer works closely with our development team, QA lead, and BA to test data pipelines from source to target, as well as associated egresses and reports. Additionally, they will build automated test scripts in a big data environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or similar job-related experience
• 7+ years of experience with a mix of manual and automated testing within complex data environments
• 3-5+ years of experience in programming in at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala, SQL, R
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud for testing within cloud-based data ecosystems
• Demonstrated experience with SQL performing data validation against requirements
• Experience with ETL testing, with data from multiple sources
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for developing and executing automated test scripts and experience in performance testing in a big data environment
• Experience with Azure cloud services (Databricks, Data Factory and Data Lake) a plus
• Experience in retail and HR data testing, including test planning and execution a plus
• Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like JIRA and/or Azure DevOps for tracking tasks, managing workflows and facilitating communications within the team
