Responsibilities
Project Accountant in Vancouver will be responsible for:
Project Accounting Management: Oversee all accounting activities for development projects with minimal supervision, including setup and maintenance of budgets, costs, and projections in Yardi.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, loan draws, capital calls, and financial updates for internal management, joint ventures, and lenders.
Invoice and Fee Processing: Ensure accurate coding and timely payment of invoices and development fees while adhering to compliance standards.
Cost and Cash Flow Monitoring: Track committed and projected costs, manage holdbacks per provincial legislation, and forecast cash needs across all project phases.
Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, attend project meetings, and support property accounting during transitions between development and income-producing phases.
Value-Driven Insights: Provide timely, accurate financial data to help teams manage projects, budgets, and cash flows effectively while enabling informed decision-making.
Budget and Profit Analysis: Develop project budgets, prepare cost and profit reports for individual unit sales (if applicable), and analyze financial performance metrics.
Qualifications
To be successful as a project accountant in Vancouver you should have a:
CPA or Equivalent commercial real estate accounting experience required.
3+ years of Accounting Experience within real estate, construction or development sectors
Yardi Experience is a large asset
