This Operations and Special Projects Manager will help our client who is a non-profit organization representing over 2,000 businesses and property owners in the heart of downtown Toronto. Through advocacy, programming, partnerships, and community engagement, they are committed to strengthening the culture and economy of the world-leading neighborhood. Their work helps create a vibrant, safe, and welcoming downtown that serves as the economic and cultural engine of the city.
The Operations and Special Projects Manager must be a a self-motivated, driven, and passionate professional to manage both the day-to-day operational needs of our public spaces and a range of special projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, collaborating with city partners, and delivering high-impact projects that enhance the downtown experience!

Responsibilities
-Manages day to day street operations including daily inspections of the neighborhood and overseeing the clean streets team
-Plans and implements initiatives related to street operations, public realm improvements, beautification efforts and activations in alignment with a strategic plan
-Manages and implements contracts related to street operations and public realm improvements
-Develops and implement strategies to engage members for ongoing support to operations and public realm initiatives
-Maps out and build relationships with appropriate City of Toronto staff and stakeholders to effectively deliver projects and address concerns related to the public realm including operational issues
-Organizes data and information for reports and advocacy conversations
-Manages administrative functions related to operations – budget management, asset management, request for proposals/quotes, etc
-Researches and applies for funding related to the portfolio
-Represents the company in meetings and provides briefing notes to the Director
Qualifications
-Degree or diploma in relevant field: asset management, facilities management, Project Management preferred.
-At least five years’ experience in an operations role (or similar).
-Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts, contractors and special projects involving multiple stakeholders.
-Full G license and clean driving record required.
-Work experience involving coordinating with City of Toronto and/or other Business Improvement Areas a significant asset.
-Superior written and spoken communication skills.
-High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
-Additional advantages: experience in social media and execution of Events.
