We are looking for a Senior Piping Designer to join the growing team of our client in the Halton region.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and layout of piping systems, possesses the knowledge, skills and experience required to design and detail custom process equipment.

Responsibilities
•Develop and design 3D piping layouts for skid mounted process equipment from P&ID drawings, while complying with applicable piping codes, standards, best practices, and client specifications.
•Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing design tasks from concept through to completion. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
•Produce structural skid detail drawings and pipe spool detail drawings for fabrication.
•Utilize advanced piping design software including SolidWorks and tools to produce high-quality deliverables.
•Develop various bill of materials and lists for piping materials and valves.
•Previous experience with SolidWorks software required.
•Interface regularly with other disciplines, while reporting to the “Mechanical Design Supervisor”
•Other duties as assigned as required
Qualifications
•Minimum 15+ years of Mechanical engineering design experience using SolidWorks and/or CADWorx
•Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is a plus.
•Experience with design and modelling/drafting of process equipment and piping.
•Technical competence in process equipment design, with strong attention to detail.
•Ability to prepare detailed equipment models from P&IDs and client specifications.
•Excellent verbal and written communication and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.
•Ability to plan and properly organize workflow to meet varying workload demands and adapt to changing and competing priorities.
•Strong understanding of piping codes and standards including ASME, ANSI, AWWA, etc.
•Problem solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
•Experience with MS office software including Excel.
•Preferred:
i.Experience with water treatment equipment design/drafting.
ii.Experience with B31.3 and/or B31.1 piping codes.
iii.Experience with structural steel design/drafting.
iv.Experience with SMAP3D in Solidworks
v.Ability to review engineering documents and specifications, to recognize important or unusual requirements and to incorporate these into design.
vi.Ability to work independently to establish priorities, exercise judgment, and meet deadlines.
