As a Maintenance Mechanic, your week would look like this;
- repair or replace machinery parts;
- troubleshoot malfunctions;
- support the maintenance team on projects; p
- perform building maintenance and other maintenance tasks as required

Responsibilities
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain production and packaging equipment such as extruders, adhesive applicators, ink jet printers, vacuum conveying systems, material dryers, clutch brake cutters, bandsaws, laminators including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Operate machine shop tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines to fabricate and modify parts required during overhaul, maintenance and set-up of machinery.
• Fabricate and assemble machinery and equipment using hand and power tools
• Support equipment reliability and uptime through completion of routine preventive maintenance.
• Perform general welding repairs when required.
• Document PM findings, repairs, process adjustments, equipment defects and part usage within work order.
• Provide timely response to equipment breakdown and process failures, adjust machinery and repair or replace defective mechanical parts as required.
• Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
• Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards. Must follow plant lock-out procedures during repair or servicing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
• Must have Valid Millwright License (433a) OR Year 4 Apprentice
• Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices (lathe & milling machines), welding (ARC, TIG, MIG), and pneumatic & hydraulic fields is required.
• Must be able to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Strong technical, planning and troubleshooting skills with proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process related issues to root-cause.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Accepting entry level candidates (with 3 years experience)
