Responsibilities
- Ensure carnets, licenses, etc. are properly maintained, tracked, and returned
- Monitor and handle import shipments to completion and adherence to quality standards
- Oversee and process daily customs entries
- Perform customs declaration audits
- Ensure internal compliance with the relevant regulatory agencies
- Register Non-Resident Importer accounts for GST and Bonds
- Renew/cancel annual GST and Non-Resident Duty/Tax bonds
- Checking and lodging entries
- Applying for tariff concessions
- Preparing refund/duty drawbacks
- Maintain and nurture a healthy relationship with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Have full grasp of CARM, be able to educate clients and help with Bond requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations and industry standards, including the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA), and the World Customs Organization (WCO).
Qualifications
- License customs broker through CBSA
- Strong Operational leadership skills
- Minimum 5 years in customs
- Strong computer skills, preferred experience using Cargowise
- French and English skills
