As a Lead Experience Designer, you are well-versed in human-centered design and driven by the goal of delivering customer-centric solutions. With a sharp eye for detail, you are comfortable exploring and developing various conceptual design directions. You excel in navigating ambiguity and are passionate about understanding and advocating for user needs. Your ultimate goal is to craft meaningful, user-friendly, and visually appealing experiences that enhance people's lives.
In this role, you will work closely with an Experience Design Strategist and a Design Research Lead, collaborating on User Experience Design Discoveries. The team's mission is to identify unmet customer needs, participate in ideation workshops, conceptualize and prototype new experiences, and assess the value of your designs through user feedback and testing.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity which requires the candidate to work onsite at our client's office 2 days per week in the financial district in Toronto.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Business Executives and Journey Product Group Owners to understand the Asset Management landscape, the client's strategy, OKRs, and key initiatives.
• Develop high-quality UX design deliverables, including user personas, competitive assessments, journey maps, design principles, sketches, storyboards, conceptual designs, prototypes, and experience strategy presentations.
• Work collaboratively and openly with experience strategy and design research teams, contributing to ideation, conceptual design, and storytelling.
• Conduct exploratory and observational research to uncover unspoken customer needs, and evaluate design concepts to ensure they meet user requirements.
• Build strong partnerships with business, product, and technology teams to deliver industry-leading experiences.
• Facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration by sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Ensure a holistic, integrated approach across the enterprise, where appropriate.
• Clearly communicate design concepts and rationales to a variety of stakeholders.
• Plan, facilitate, and participate in workshops, capturing outputs to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience as a Lead Experience Designer.
• 8+ years of experience designing complex, transactional experiences for large enterprises or consumer-focused companies.
• Proven track record in product and service design with a focus on customer-centric, data-informed product development.
• Expertise across creative disciplines, including experience strategy, design research, interaction design, visual design, and copywriting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing others to reach consensus.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Figma.
