Responsibilities
- Communicating (via phone/text/geotab) with drivers to advise their next pick-up and deliveries.
- Working closely with the drivers on any problems they may encounter.
- Updating shipment status in the dispatch system (Truckmate).
- Determining the best routes and order of pick-ups & deliveries.
- Working very closely with fellow dispatchers to co-ordinate the daily activities.
- Advising Customer Service Representatives of any issues so the CSR may communicate directly with clients.
- Verifying the availability of containers (grounded?). Arranging the return of the empty containers.
Qualifications
- Excellent English conversational skills required. French conversational a strong asset
- Minimum of 4 year experience working for a trucking asset-based company, preferably with intermodal experience
- Team spirit. Able to work well with others
- Good communicator
- Minimum high school graduate
- Knowledge of Truckmate software (asset, we will train)
- Great attitude & willingness to learn.
