Our client in the Manufacturing sector is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their Montreal team.
Job Title:: Cost Accountant
Location: Montreal (Hybrid)
Salary : Up to 110K depending on experience
Duration : 12 month contract with a possibility of permanence

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Plant Chief Financial Officer, the Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring plant costs, the cost modeling process, analyzing production capital needs and presenting results and financial reports to senior management.
- Participate in month-end activities in the production of reports, in the analysis and reconciliation of data related to productivity and variances in production and expenses, among other things;
- Review standard versus actual costs to ensure accuracy;
- Work closely with the operations team to explain the results of the plant;
- Perform weekly projections of plant costs and manufacturing variances for each of the lines
- All other related tasks
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- CPA designation or in the process of obtaining it, a major asset
- Bilingual, French and English, both oral and written
- Organized and able to work independently.
- Excellent priority management and ability to work under pressure.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and costing.
- Knowledge of an ERP system is an asset
