Our client, a company specializing in maritime resupply, containers, packaging, and project planning across Canada, including remote regions in the Eastern and Western Arctic, is looking to hire an experienced Buyer for their downtown Montreal office.

Work involves peak periods during the summer
Responsibilities
Coordinate the ship ordering process, including purchasing and distribution
Coordinate the receipt of requests for goods and services, making necessary adjustments as required
Initiate the quotation process and send requests to suppliers
Issue purchase orders to suppliers
Verify item pricing in the system
Produce purchase orders
Coordinate long-term and short-term storage with the central warehouse
Validate order receipt with users
Follow up with suppliers
Participate in the invoice approval process
transportation logistics support
Qualifications
College diploma, technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum of 2 years of related experience in an office environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with an ERP system
Ability to multitask and meet multiple or expected deadlines in a demanding environment
Proactive problem-solving approach and excellent decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience in logistics
Bilingual
