Responsibilities
1. **Accounts Payable:**
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently for payment.
- Verify approvals and coding for all invoices.
- Prepare and perform check runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor relationships and address any payment inquiries.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
2. **Accounts Receivable:**
- Generate and send out invoices to customers promptly.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and initiate collections process as needed.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy.
- Record customer payments in a timely manner.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Provide customer service support regarding billing inquiries and issues.
3. **General Financial Duties:**
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable roles, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sap, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles is a plus.
