Randstad Canada is proud to announce that Lara Speirs, Chief Legal Officer & EVP Public Affairs, has been awarded this year’s Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 (C-Suite Executive Category) by WXN (Women Executive Network).
WXN (Women’s Executive Network) and its partners have unveiled the 2023 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners, recognizing 103 exceptional women across Canada who are making a transformational difference in their fields and actively shaping a more inclusive future, especially in underrepresented areas. WXN brings together remarkable women and men, creating opportunities to learn from each other, enrich careers and make a difference for female colleagues. The WXN Top 100 Awards opens doors for women to achieve higher levels of excellence by proving that opportunities are increasing for female leaders to have an impact at the highest organizational levels.
With a 25-year legal career spanning multiple industries, including HR services, financial institutions, and government (federal & provincial), Lara Speirs is a seasoned and trusted C-suite legal executive and an ICD-certified board member (Institute of Corporate Directors).
"It's no surprise for me to see Lara on this list, a remarkable female leader who’s a creative force in the legal field" says Patrick Poulin, Managing Director for Randstad Canada. "Over the last decade, Lara has been instrumental in driving our organization's growth and innovation by anticipating changes to the legislative landscape that would impact our business, developing innovative and practical solutions, and being a staunch advocate for the staffing industry and its benefits to Canadian employers and talent. Lara is a role model for younger female professionals, she passionately champions purpose-driven work and corporate social responsibility, and maintains a long-standing commitment to ESG and equity, diversity, and inclusion."
In 2022, Lara was a finalist for the Canada Law Award for Female Trailblazer of the Year. She currently serves as President and executive board member of Women General Counsel Canada. She is an active member of the CD Howe Institute and sits on its Human Capital Council. She also acts as an independent advisor to the Board on governance issues for Club Jeunesse des Lacs Inc. Her previous board experience includes serving as the chair of the Randstad Charity Foundation, a board member of Side Launch Brewery, and former Chair of the HR Committee and board member of Boost Youth & Child Advocacy Centre.
