Our client is a metal finishing shop that deals exclusively in automobile parts. This is one business part of a large group of companies that manufacture and distribute throughout Canada.

Responsibilities
- Perform welding on various materials to create tooling needed for production.
- Development & building of new tooling in addition to the repair/refurbishment of existing tooling.
- Ensure all welding projects meet safety standards and quality specifications.
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Weld and fabricate metal components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Operate welding equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform inspections and quality control checks on welded parts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to resolve technical issues.
- Flexible to cover a scope of work including, development, fabrication, and validation of production tool, with the potential to run a CNC fabrication cell
in the processing of tooling components.
Qualifications
-Strong experience in welding, primarily jig & fixture development, and fabrication
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality work.
-Proven 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Welder/Fabricator
-Red Seal or Welder Level B certificate is ideal.
-Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
-Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
-Strong knowledge of welding procedures, materials, and safety practices.
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
-Experience with metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, and fitting parts.
-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
-Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
-Adaptable
-Willing to adapt and be flexible and work hours as needed.
-CNC experience (not a must, but would be considered an asset)
