We’re hiring a Weekend Maintenance Supervisor for a well-established wood manufacturing plant that produces high-quality products for industrial, residential, and commercial construction.

Location: NE Calgary, AB
Schedule: (3x12) Friday – Sunday, 6 am – 6 pm (34.5 work hrs per week)
Environment: Non-unionized
Wage: Hourly $45 to $46 per hour (based on experience and certification)

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do Every Day
As the Weekend Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities include:
- Oversee a team of 2-3 maintenance technicians, providing guidance, coaching, cross-training, and performance assessments.
- Foster a safety-first culture while ensuring adherence to productivity goals.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to set priorities, assign tasks, and ensure high-quality workmanship aligned with facility standards.
- Direct maintenance activities to reduce downtime and maintain maintenance expenses within budgetary limits.
- Implement and oversee the preventive maintenance program, including inspections, scheduling tasks, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
- Conduct mechanical rounds to inspect equipment for wear or damage. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Monitor working practices, enforce safety procedures, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards for employees, customers, and visitors.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to reduce costs and avoid downtime. Recommend improvements for equipment upkeep and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to identify and implement operational efficiency improvements.
- Assist with major upgrades, and ensure compliance with plant standards.
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Certification: Journeyperson or Red Seal Millwright ticket (mandatory).
- Experience: 3–5 years as a supervisor or team lead in maintenance or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience in repairs, PMs, and rebuilds (no electrical skills required).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead small teams, motivate staff, and ensure productivity.
- Commitment to Safety: A track record of promoting and enforcing health and safety protocols.
