Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between the trader and clearing area, interacting with personnel from various institutions to correct trading activity related issues.
Coordinate the settlement of Canadian/North American or global securities lending and trading activity (security types include: bond, equity, and money market).
Review monthly statements for determining lending fees payable and receivable.
Balance money entries.
Develop and maintain supplier and customer relationships.
Identify opportunities and develop channels for purchase or sale of securities or commodities.
Inform other traders, managers, or customers of market conditions, including volume, price, competition, and dynamics.
Process paperwork for special orders, including margin and option purchases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
Canadian Securities course.
5-9 years of North American financial services experience.
Experience in financial services industry – would be an asset.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of specialty transaction guidelines and systems.
Knowledge of financial analysis.
Advanced user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, spreadsheet/financial accounting skills, and any other related accounting software.
Attention to detail and critical thinking.
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
