Responsibilities
- Terminal oversight: Accountable for the oversight through regularly scheduled meetings and on-site visits, conduit in times of disruptions to develop mitigating actions to ensure the reliable, rateable service of our products at our contracted terminals.
- Vendor & Supplier management: resolve vendor-related issues, disputes and contract discrepancies; drive cost efficiencies and quality improvements; manage performance to ensure they meet quality and delivery expectations; manage billing, invoicing and associated reconciliation; develops and implements contract negotiations & renewals.
- Quality assurance: Accountable to oversee the quality assurance as it pertains to exporting Sulphur including but not limited to, specification attainment, contractual expectations, non-standard shipments, environmental impacts, and Sulphur product quality etc.
- Stakeholder relations: Maintains strong relationships with stakeholders such as Port Terminal, Terminal Service Providers, etc. resolving issues and driving continuous improvement by meeting expectations through KPI reviews, opportunity exploration and continuous efficiency opportunities.
- Continuous improvement: Responsible to explore underlying opportunities and propose solutions as it relates to product quality and non-standard handling requirements that is facilitated on behalf of our customers.
- Provides back-up coverage and on-call weekend and statutory holiday coverage in rotation with other members of the Transportation & Logistics team.
Key Actions
- Ensure systemic terminal and/or terminal service provider problems are identified through on-site visits, metrics and stakeholder relations. Analyze the information and develop recommendations for remediation. If action plans are not carried out or the risk is over acceptable threshold, escalation is taken.
- Develop and sustain long-standing relationships with vendors, supplier and customers.
- Leads product quality, and non-standard bulk handling requirements through detailed assessments and stakeholder collaboration to execute corrective actions.
- Provides on-site Terminal oversight, as required, for non-standard product handling requirements to ensure that a plan is developed and executed as anticipated.
- In times of disruptions, collaborates with the terminal to develop mitigation plans.
- Evaluates and recommends alternatives for the safe and economical disposal of off- specification Sulphur.
- Leads the safe and economical disposal of off-specification Sulphur through creative solutions while contemplating risk, environmental and safety impacts.
- Acts as an orchestrator and connector of key stakeholders by creating scope clarity, timelines and requirements of terminal shutdown planning to minimize supply chain disruptions for our customers.
- Monitor compliance and escalate areas of deviation to Terminal and Terminal Service Provider agreements.
- Coordinates and delivers customer terminal tours, as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through building communication, improving satisfaction and proactively nurturing customers’ needs both regularly scheduled and as required.
- Assist in the development of the operating plan & budget through analysis of historic trends, forecast intelligence and variance reporting
- Analyzes the appropriateness of ancillary & supplementary charges for completeness, accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or Operations Management
- Supply Chain management certification an asset
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably with a railway, terminal, vessel or managing logistics.
