Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure completeness, integrity, availability, and overall quality of TSSA data.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation to support data governance initiatives. Engage and collaborate with business leaders to define data ownership, identify roles of owners, stewards and users.
• Facilitate the process of documenting, implementing and tracking data standards with appropriate business owners.
• Ensure there is a process implemented to escalate issues and risks and recommend mitigating controls for data quality violations. Report up to Leadership Team on findings.
• Delegate tasks to perform various data manipulations such as data profiling, data standardization, cleansing and root cause analysis
• Provide guidance and support to teams across the organization on data quality issues, resolution identification and data cleansings as required.
• Own and manage our data quality services to ensure regular data violation reporting is available for the organization at a reasonable cost
• Identify emerging trends and technologies in data governance and recommend innovative solutions to enhance data management practices.
• Mentor and guide team members, provide technical leadership and best practices, and promote a culture of quality and teamwork.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Technical Data Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role.
- 7+ years of experience in ETL development, preferably using Microsoft Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).
- Experience with data quality monitoring and using scripts, coding and automation for the execution of data quality checks.
General Skills:
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of technical experts with diverse backgrounds and to foster a data quality mindset across the organization.
- Deep understanding of data governance principles, practices, and frameworks, with proven experience in implementing data governance initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across different teams and functions, including TSSA leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of data issues and to develop and implement pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to lead the team in establishing project plans and milestone goals and monitor them to completion.
