Responsibilities
◾Responsible for the planning, executing and delivery of Structural Engineering projects, ensuring the project is within budget and on schedule while managing the clients’ expectations;
◾Manage day-to-day client interactions, communicate effectively with clients and internal/external project teams, and continually seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction;
◾Managing project execution by providing direction to the project team, appropriately scheduling time and acting as main point of contact between internal and external project teams;
◾Develop detailed structural designs for a variety of structural engineering projects including multistory residential precast buildings, commercial and industrial building structures;
Qualifications
◾Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with courses related to structural engineering;
◾Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.)
◾Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm;
◾Advanced understanding of building structural design, the Ontario Building Code, the building permit processes, and applicable regulations, standards and legislation related to structural engineering projects;
◾Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel;
◾Experience with technical report writing; and
◾Well versed and experienced in the use of 3D structural modeling software programs for multistory residential buildings. Strong knowledge of Part 4 Loading requirements as specified in OBC and NBC
