Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Kong API Gateway configurations, including routes, services, plugins, and transformations to ensure optimal API management.
Integrate Kong with cloud-native services, leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to configure Kong API Gateway in scalable environments and ensure seamless integration with other cloud services like Lambda, Kafka, Kubernetes, etc.
Collaborate on microservices architecture to design and implement microservices-based solutions, leveraging Kong's capabilities for routing, load balancing, and security in a cloud-based infrastructure.
Continuously monitor and optimize API performance, utilizing Kong's analytics and logs to improve throughput, latency, and scalability.
Implement authentication, authorization, rate-limiting, and other security best practices within Kong to ensure APIs comply with industry standards and organizational policies.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a large enterprise setting
Proficiency in deploying, configuring, and managing Kong API Gateway for API management, including plugins, security, and traffic control.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services such as Kubernetes, Lambda, Kafka, and serverless architectures.
In-depth understanding of designing, developing, and managing RESTful APIs and microservices, especially in cloud environments.
Expertise in programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or JavaScript, often used for Kong API development and cloud integrations.
Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment of Kong configurations and cloud services.
