This highly visible role is a key member of the Sun Life Health Expense Management Team accountable for collaborating with leaders and various teams on project reporting, forecasting and analysis, negotiating contracts, identifying risks and opportunities to drive expense optimization and recommending corrective actions and tradeoffs to ensure Sun Life Health leadership is executing against its financial goals and strategies.

• Strong relationship management and teamwork skills

Responsibilities
What will you do?
• Lead and support reporting, forecasting, analysis and value-added insights on projects and strategic initiatives
• Support strategic and annual planning and budget process
• Support transition to Agile/Digital Enterprise model
• Partner with project leaders in review of business cases and support and influence Cost/Benefit analysis
• Develop financial models to support tracking and reporting on project initiatives
• Partner with Sun Life Health and Project Management Teams as well as Canadian Operations, Canadian Finance and Digital Business and Technology Solutions on project initiatives to develop the required metrics for tracking and reporting with value added commentary
• Lead and support contract negotiations with lens to manage and optimize project costs
• Lead and support Sun Life Health benchmark studies and summarize and present risks and opportunities
• Develop approach to enhance competitor insights to identify expense optimization opportunities
• Support business and project initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Preferred skills:
• 5+ years of work experience in the Insurance or Financial Services Industry
• Experience in financial planning, reporting, forecasting and deep dive analysis for project initiatives
• Experience communicating and presenting to leaders
• Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Financial modelling experience
• Negotiation experience
• Benchmarking experience

This is a Senior level as it requires a candidate who has 5+ years of work experience and has critical thinking skills capable of distilling complex concepts into simple key messages and insights. In addition, the candidate should have excellent written and communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong prioritization and ability to deliver under tight timelines.
