Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Organize trade contractors to work efficiently on site and meet schedule
- Ensure all workers are properly oriented to the job site
- Liaise with client site representatives to ensure they are kept up to date with the project requirements
- Create and drive look-ahead schedules to organize and schedule sub-contractors to deliver based on the project milestones set in the schedule
- Verify all sub-contractors on site have their project documentation in order and are working on the latest set of drawings and specifications
- Ensure the quality of products, materials and workmanship delivered to site are to the standards specified in the construction documents
- Manage, maintain, and complete all punch list items throughout the course of construction with each individual sub-contractor
- Provide daily updates to the project team including daily progress photos
- Ensure subcontractor safe work practices and procedures are in place and followed, that the job site is kept clean and safe, and that all workers follow the site general rules
- Identify project risks and opportunities
- Proactively prevent disputes from arising
- Facilitate client or other site visits
- Support the project team in receiving project close-out documentation from sub-contractors
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction superintendent role
- Experience in Commercial Construction is required
- Experience in Environmentally Controlled Construction is considered an asset
- PMP, LEED and/or Gold Seal certification will be considered an asset
- Experience with Procore and/or SiteDocs will be considered an asset
