Responsibilities
-Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products
-Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets
-Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
-Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, or other forms of adhesives
-Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, rain gutters, and downspouts
-Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales, and micrometers
-Repair and maintain sheet metal products
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Minimum 6 months of 2 years of experience in sheet metal work
-Ability to follow instructions
-Experience with hand and power tools
-Ability to work independently or as part of a team
-Excellent attention to detail
-Good communication skills
