Responsibilities
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of large-scale IT projects in the transit domain
• Coordinate with internal IT, business units, and external vendors
• Ensure alignment with enterprise methodologies and city policies
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across multiple workstreams
• Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and competing priorities
• Foster stakeholder engagement and consensus throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
1. Ten (10) years - Overall IT project management experience (the majority of this experience should have been practiced in accordance with the generally accepted good practices identified in PMI’s PMBOK® Guide, in recent years);
2. Ten (10) years - Proven experience in project management of large, complex technology projects, or program of projects; size of projects may be defined in terms of budget, staff involvement, organizational impact, complexity/number of stakeholders and size of organization;
3. Ten (10) years - Proven experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary project teams consisting of internal staff from IT and clients, contractors, and vendors;
4. Ten (10) years - Project resource planning and participation/input into project team resourcing;
5. Ten (10) years - The ability to undertake multiple projects, manage competing demands, prioritize and adjust resources;
6. Experience with Transit implementations of Hastus and CAD AVL
Desired Qualifications:
1. Previous work experience with municipal or other large government organizations;
2. Ten (10) years - Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage complex relationships with groups/individuals with varying perspectives, interest and roles;
3. Ten (10) years - Strong leadership, planning, change management and analytic skills;
4. Ten (10) years - Well-developed communication skills including oral, written, presentation, facilitation and mediation skills (negotiation and mediation);
5. Ten (10) years - Ability to work with a diverse audience and reach a consensus on critical project decisions;
6. Five (5) years – Software development experience applying Agile and other software development methodologies in various roles of developer, analyst and project manager.
