Responsibilities
• Deliver white-glove client-focused solutions to customer requirements.
• Establish procedures for new accounts and collaborate with key stakeholders of customer processes.
• Offers top-notch customer service and nurtures relationships with carriers and partners.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute shipments via air, sea, rail, or road.
• Negotiate pricing and service level agreements with clients and carriers.
• Prepare accurate transportation documents and monitor closely all movement.
• Select appropriate carriers and routes to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
• Prepare and review essential documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
• Manage and oversee external customs clearance processes.
• Ensure all import/export regulations and requirements are met.
• Monitor the status of shipments and address any delays or issues.
• Provide regular updates to clients regarding shipment progress.
• Provide clients with guidance on logistics solutions, regulations, and cost-saving strategies.
• Lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Analyze and optimize shipping costs and operational processes.
• Mitigate risks associated with freight delays, damages, or losses.
• Stay updated on international trade news and transportation regulations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including Incoterms and safety regulations.
• Analyze shipment data to track performance and identify trends.
• Use freight forwarding software and tools for tracking, documentation, and communication.
Identify areas of improvement to meet quotas and put in place processes.
Qualifications
• Minimum 10+ years of industry experience with a College Diploma or bachelor’s degree
• Dangerous goods certification required or obtainable.
• Knowledge of online booking services for rail and ocean, tracking, tracing, and leading market pricing indicators.
• Required skills in operations, leadership, and customer service are necessities.
• Demonstrated ability to help close new business and nurture organic growth of existing accounts.
• Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
• Highly Customer-centric and have a sense of urgency.
• A self-motivator and a self-learner with a strong drive.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to adapt to unforeseen changes remains patient and calm under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CBSA online portals (CERS and E-manifest).
