Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Perform day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to support internal and external reporting requirements, including month-end journal entries, FTE analysis, and account reconciliations
- Analyze and present monthly variances between budgeted and actual financial results, providing accurate and timely insights to management
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly and/or quarterly Financial and Statistical Reports to external stakeholders as required
- Assist in the budget planning and finalization process under the direction of the Financial Analyst Supervisor
- Conduct benchmarking and trend analysis to monitor performance, identify risks, and highlight opportunities
- Participate in regular forecasting exercises to support key financial decision-making
- Provide ongoing support for various financial initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as needed
- Act as a backup for the Financial Analysis Supervisor when required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting
- CPA designation (or in progress), or MBA, preferred
- 5-8 years of experience in a similar financial analysis or reporting role
- Strong understanding of ASPE/PSAS requirements and financial statement preparation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other database software applications
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience with financial systems implementation, maintenance, and reporting
- Previous healthcare industry experience preferred
- Bilingualism in French and English is considered an advantage.
