Responsibilities
-Oversee the Insurance and Loan Loss Provision month-end close process.
-Conduct financial analysis, investigation, and explanation of results.
-Provide oversight for Insurance legal entities and support quarterly board deliverables.
-Ensure strong financial controls and implement process improvements.
-Execute month-end accounting close and quarterly financial reporting deliverables.
-Monitor and manage offshore team deliverables.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CFO teams, Risk, and Internal Audit.
-Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
-Respond to audit requests and identify areas for financial control improvements.
-Support and mentor team members in understanding business and financial processes.
Qualifications
-5-7+ years of relevant work experience in financial services.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, VBA, Macros).
-Strong analytical and investigative skills in accounting processes.
-CPA accreditation or equivalent preferred.
-Experience with ERP financial applications (Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle) is an asset.
-Knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and financial controls.
-Loan loss provision and insurance experience is a plus.
-Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
