Responsibilities
◾Obtain tender documents, review site conditions, and perform pre-qualification tasks.
◾Review and comprehend tender specifications and collaborate with consultants for clarifications.
◾Perform quantity calculations and generate cost estimates using estimation software.
◾Secure bonding, insurance, and other tender requirements for submissions.
◾Prepare and submit tender proposals, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
◾Facilitate the handover of all project details to the field operations team after bid awards.
◾Support change order pricing and maintain thorough documentation for estimates.
◾Maintain and update a directory of subcontractors, suppliers, and historical bid information.
Qualifications
◾5+ years of experience in preconstruction management or a lead estimation role, with a focus on infrastructure construction projects.
◾Proven ability to produce tender schedules and conceptual cost calculations.
◾Strong knowledge of infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, roads, water and sewer, wastewater treatment plants, and pumping stations.
◾Familiarity with OPSS, CCDC/CCA contracts, and MTO (Ministry of Transportation Ontario) standards.
◾Proficiency in Project Estimating principles, including planning, execution, pricing, and vendor/subcontractor management.
◾A knack for working with construction estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
