Responsibilities
• Lead solution architecture and develop overarching technical visions for digital services.
• Guide teams in implementing user-centric, agile solutions.
• Ensure scalable, resilient architectures leveraging cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Develop prototypes and recommendations for technical discovery and feasibility.
• Mentor teams in agile principles, practices, and coding standards.
• Review and contribute to code changes, ensuring alignment with technical goals.

Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
• University graduation in computer science, IT or a related discipline and 2-yr related experience; OR
2-yr diploma in computer science, IT or a related discipline and 4-yr related experience; OR
1-yr certificate in computer science, IT or a related discipline and 5-yr related experience OR • 10-yr related experience
• 8 years experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer, where the proposed resource’s focus has been collaborative work on and/or with cross-functional teams to create new software applications
• 5 years experience conveying technical information to non-technical people and advising decision-makers on technical options.
• 5 years experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for a large-scale Enterprise projects with integrations between systems.
• 2 years experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and the ability to leverage them to build scalable and resilient architectures.
• 5 years experience working as a software architect on complex software solutions in an agile team environment.
• 5 years experience working in software development across the full software development lifecycle
• 2 years experience working with open-source ecosystems such as Node.js/NPM.
• 4 years experience leading domain modelling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
• 2 years experience implementing DevSecOps in an enterprise environment
• 5 years experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases.
• 5 years experience working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use the development stack and derivative technologies (Microsoft .Net, Java, Python, etc.) within an organization of equivalent size and complexity to the Government of Alberta
• 5 years experience working as a senior technical resource identifying and advocating technologies and approaches that lead to digital transformation in the public sector context
• 5 years experience working as a senior technical resource identifying and advocating technologies and approaches that lead to digital transformation in the public sector context.
• 2 years experience working within an organization equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• 2 years experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches.
• 4 years Experience working as an architect using data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights from data
• 4 years experience working as an architect using data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights from data
• 4 years experience working with other architects and/or as part of cross-functional teams to identify efficiencies through common services, reusable components and application programming interfaces (APIs), and contribute to the overall architecture practice designing and implementing application programming interfaces (APIs) and system integrations.
