Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee architectural plans to ensure user-centric and agile digital solutions.
• Lead solution design, technical discovery, and iterative implementation for digital services.

• Provide guidance on integration, system interactions, and leveraging common digital components.

Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience with a university graduation in computer science, IT, or a related discipline OR 4 years of experience with a 2-year diploma in computer science, IT, or a related discipline OR 5 years of experience with a 1-year certificate in computer science, IT, or a related discipline OR 10 years of experience in a related field without formal education.
• 8 years of experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer, focusing on collaborative work with cross-functional teams to create new software applications.
• 5 years of experience conveying technical information to non-technical people and advising decision-makers on technical options.
• 5 years of experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for a large-scale Enterprise project with integrations between systems.
• 2 years of experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and leveraging them to build scalable and resilient architectures.
• 5 years of experience working as a software architect on complex software solutions in an agile team environment.
• 5 years of experience working in software development across the full software development lifecycle.
• 2 years of experience working with open-source ecosystems such as Node.js/NPM.
• 4 years of experience leading domain modeling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience implementing DevSecOps in an enterprise environment.
• 5 years of experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases.
• 5 years of experience working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use the development stack and derivative technologies (Microsoft .Net, Java, Python, etc.) within an organization of equivalent size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• 5 years of experience working as a senior technical resource identifying and advocating technologies and approaches that lead to digital transformation in the public sector context.
• 2 years of experience working with teams that apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches.
• 4 years of experience working as an architect using data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights from data.
• 4 years of experience working with other architects and/or as part of cross-functional teams to identify efficiencies through common services, reusable components, and APIs, contributing to the overall architecture practice.
