Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, assisting with complex cases and fostering their development.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customs processes and ensure compliance with changing regulations.
- Handle high-priority and complex customs issues, providing expert solutions and ensuring timely resolution.
- Provide specialized guidance on tariff classification, valuation, marking, and adherence to customs and government agency requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise the customs clearance process, ensuring precise and timely tariff classifications.
- Assist customers in navigating CBSA requirements by preparing and submitting necessary documents, determining tariff and duty payments, and tracking shipments.
- Accurately classify shipments, input data, and make necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Address and resolve customer issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations.
- Efficiently process CBSA releases for ocean, air, rail, and highway shipments.
- Review invoices, manifests, and other supporting documents to ensure compliance with customs and corporate regulations.
- Prepare and execute billing for entry-related services.
- Collaborate with CBSA to resolve any arising issues.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and other government agency requirements.
Qualifications
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) is preferred.
- Korean is mandatory. If this isn't a requirement you meet, your application will not be considered.
- A College or University degree in logistics, customs, supply chain management, or administration is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in customs brokerage is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to build and sustain client relationships.
