Responsibilities
- Actively participate in closings (2 weeks out of 4 dedicated to month-end).
Prepare journal entries, depreciation, prepaid expenses and balance sheet consolidations.
Perform balance sheet account balances and prepare year-end entries.
- Assist with job costing and project cost monitoring (approximately 300 projects per month).
Challenge costs to ensure accuracy.
Manage intercompany re-invoicing (very frequent).
Produce GST/QST reports and ensure their compliance.
- Perform general ledger operations, including bank adjustments and reconciliations.
Ensure research and resolution of questions from business units.
- Prepare the year-end file for external auditors and liaise with them.
No reporting required (performed by external auditors).
Qualifications
558 / 5,000
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
Education: University degree in accounting or more than 5 years of experience in the field
Knowledge of Maestro accounting software (an asset).
Organizational skills: Ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Additional assets: Experience in the construction sector, multi-company accounting and project management.
Languages: Fluent in French and English
Excellent communication skills.
Rigor, autonomy and analytical mind.
