Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant you will: be involved in both Full cycle accounting and project accounting:
Full Cycle Accounting:
Oversee daily accounting functions and provide leadership to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements
Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely adjustments as necessary
Prepare weekly bank reconciliations and manage GST returns and payroll source deductions
Review and approve bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Maintain and reconcile the chart of accounts, sub-ledgers, and inter-company transactions
Manage the financial close process (monthly, quarterly, and annually), including journal entries and account balance reconciliations
Support budgeting and forecasting for new projects and acquisitions
Project Accounting:
Develop and update cashflow forecasts for ongoing projects, adjusting for changes in estimates and timelines
Monitor and manage corporate cashflow
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets for income-producing commercial and residential properties
Prepare and analyze job cost reports to ensure accurate billing and project profitability
Review and issue monthly customer billing invoices
Prepare progress loan draws with necessary supporting documentation
Qualifications
Final Stages of CPA Journey or CPA
Experience with Construction or IPP sector is a HUGE asset
