Responsibilities
•Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for structured and unstructured data.
•Design schemas that integrate diverse data types in a data lakehouse environment.
•Define data partitioning, clustering, and indexing strategies to optimize query performance.
•Implement Medallion architecture or similar frameworks for scalable data management.
•Develop metadata structures to support data governance and compliance.
•Design ETL processes to migrate data from legacy systems to modern platforms.
•Develop data transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
•Monitor and enforce data modeling and normalization standards to maintain data integrity.
•Ensure data security, compliance, and governance for public health-related data.
•Document and standardize data management policies, security controls, and performance metrics.
•Work with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and IT teams, to define data requirements.
•Create technical documentation, including data dictionaries, standards, and governance models.
•Provide recommendations for performance optimization, scalability, and integration strategies.
•Assist in troubleshooting and tuning production data environments for improved efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Experience
•10+ years in IT solutions development with expertise in data modeling and architecture.
•7+ years of experience in data modeling for relational, star, and snowflake schemas.
•Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERWIN, Visio, or Power Designer.
•4+ years of experience in designing schemas for data lakes or data lakehouses.
•3+ years of experience implementing Medallion architecture or similar frameworks.
•Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, and Databricks.
Preferred Certifications
•Azure Data Engineer Associate
•Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
•DAMA Certified Data Architect
