Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will assume a pivotal leadership role overseeing multiple technology platforms within the Technology Services Operations (TSO) division. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, I&IT experts, and executive management, the successful candidate will spearhead and facilitate a range of initiatives and a number of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Operational and Project management on large-scale, complex, high profile and high-risk projects for OPS I&IT initiatives.
- Ensures project deliverables meet clients’ business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.
- Manage platform technology team(s) to ensure operational status for UAT and Prod infrastructure environments, and technology evergreening initiatives (i.e. Oracle, migration to Cloud).
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- Expertise in applying project management theory, methodologies and techniques to provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with enterprise mandates, objectives and strategies.
- Knowledge of IT systems, tools and databases to develop comprehensive implementation plans.
- Knowledge and experience with GIS systems, Salesforce, Java and Cloud technologies and platforms.
- Vendor management expertise including knowledge of account management services.
- Proficient with incident management and related tools.
- Knowledge of project management and in-depth knowledge of task estimation, scheduling, budgeting, and control to prepare project plans and provide guidance.
- Strong analytical and conceptualization skills to deliver, combined with proven skills and experience in change management, project management and issues management.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate project vision, facilitate discussions/negotiations, and prepare written briefings, presentations and other project-related materials.
- Negotiation skills to influence others and find collaborative solutions to complex high-profile issues.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in managing operational/infrastructure platform technology teams and projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Management’s Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
- Ability to make recommendations on the acquisition of software, hardware, and technology resources.
- Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring, anticipating and troubleshoots issues, providing ongoing expertise, resolving problems and providing project effectiveness.
- Ability to identify conflict between project and functional areas and develop responses to successfully address conflict.
- Ability to handle client relationships to manage expectations, provide updates as required, identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas.
