Responsibilities
- Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain a detailed project and implementation schedules and/or integrated plans.
- Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope.
- Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience directing teams to ensure deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards.
- Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project, implementation and support processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures.
- Resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiate changes to resourcing, ensure knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met.
- Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, gating, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
- Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
- Articulate and prioritize issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
Qualifications
- IT Solution Development Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level). - 5+ years
- Knowledge of latest developments and leading practices in the project management industry and profession, (e.g. PMBOK®) and familiarity with best practices in other industries, sectors or jurisdictions related to project management methodologies.
- Experience in the development (Java or c++) and implementation of project management processes, plans, and communication tools using SQL and/or other similar tools.
- Experience in creating portfolio plans, monitoring performance against plans and generating progress reports using earned value or similar techniques.
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
- An experienced individual with a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure work on tasks/milestones remains within time and cost constraints.
- Knowledge of OPS Integrated Project Management Framework and Methodology.
