Responsibilities
Deliverables:
Successful delivery and completion of the internal initiatives, OPS Plan FY 24-25 projects, incident management, problem management, change management, documentation of resolved/outstanding incidents, all completed maintenance work and all configuration changes made to Ministry's infrastructures, databases and applications, and Ministry's infrastructure having availability of no less than 99.5%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scripting skills in SQL, VBScript, Python and PowerShell.
- Provide technical expertise in the resolution of problems which may be very diverse and broad in scope; and to provide technical leadership and co-ordination for related mid-sized projects or parts of large and complex projects.
- Complex database management, patching/updating, and monitoring.
- Oracle RAC installation/configuration/administration on Exadata or Solaris/Linux.
- Oracle golden gate configuration/administration.
- Oracle 19c multitenant environment, exadata on premise and Cloud.
- Oracle upgrade from 12c to 19c. Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13.4) report creation / customization.
- Knowledge of DB2 and SQL servers.
- Lead project teams in identifying and evaluating information technology options for clients, developing infrastructure or system modifications, evaluating and recommending acquisition of midrange hardware, software, services or production consumables.
Qualifications
- Analyzing and defining clients business and information technology requirements; design, development, testing and implementation of business or systems solutions, operational procedures, processes, and databases;
- Preparing technical documentation and technical support; make persuasive technical recommendations;
- Identify and diagnose serious incidents/problems, which may be very diverse and broad scope;
- Provide viable options and solutions;
- Provide draft procedures;
- Train and explain technical concepts to others.
- Project management, and situational operational and service management skills, including costing and cost control, problem-solving techniques, to provide leadership, advice and cost-effective solutions which deal with complex infrastructure problems efficiently and effectively.
- Customer service techniques, to provide data, reports, problem resolution, advice, education and information.
- Written and oral communications, to write, explain and present complex technical reports and recommendations for staff and/or decision-makers who may not have in depth technical expertise;
- Establish effective working relationships and provide instruction for less experienced team members;
- Negotiate with and instruct vendors;
- Provide training; and draft procedures.
- Prioritizing and time and quality management to ensure outputs meet SLA and operational needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborating in work and contribute to an agile team environment.
- Advance knowledge of Change, Incident and problem management tools and practices using change management system based on BMC Remedy called eSMT.
