Responsibilities
• Support the Sr. Project Manager to manage, oversee, track and update large complex projects; including scheduling, risk management, deliverables, and associated documentation.
• Provide support to the project team and Ministry partners to complete and manage all required aspects of the project.
• Work with project team to ensure successful delivery for the Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) project.
• Advancing the work items identified by senior members of the project team.
• Support the development of project plans that identify resource, time, and budgetary needs.
• Support project meetings with team, managers, and stakeholders.
• Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members.
• Meet deadlines assigned by the project team and deliver quality outputs.
• Track project milestones and assist in project acceptance.
• Undertake work as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with the client representatives and in partnership with other project managers to develop coordinated approaches/ solutions.
• Support the PSRN Program by proactively identifying, communicating, and managing multi-faceted client-facing risks and issues to deliver a superior customer service experience and to support efficient and effective project delivery.
• Interact directly with ministry clients, business partners, and project team members to develop and maintain strong ongoing relationships, always looking for opportunities to improve client satisfaction.
• Support the development of ministry-specific dashboards, reports, and other project management materials.
• Proactively identifying risks and issues pertaining to the assigned work package, developing mitigation options in coordination with the project team, and preparing materials to be presented to Project Champions and the Portfolio Team.
• Establish trust with vendors, stakeholders, and peer groups across ministries through effective relationship management.
• Support the development/ updating of project artifacts, associated documentation, Briefing Notes, Change Requests, Contracts, Request for Bid (RFBs), etc.
• Assist with financial governance as needed.
• Support the development of complex network implementation and/ or transition and migration strategies and plans with cross stream dependencies including vendor activities.
Qualifications
• Knowledge of, and direct experience applying all phases (concept, definition, planning, implementation, and closeout) of fundamental project management concepts, practices, and procedures to a large-scale, complex, high-value projects in order to meet critical timelines.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Able to succinctly articulate key project information in a politically astute manner.
• Demonstrated experience working on/ in public safety radio and/or the telecommunications and / or IT infrastructure field.
• Experience building reports to support decision-making on project scope, schedule, cost.
