Responsibilities
•Conduct privacy impact and threshold assessments on medium to high-complexity projects
•Develop privacy policies, procedures, and compliance controls
•Identify and assess privacy risks and propose mitigation strategies
•Advise teams on privacy legislation and respond to access, consent, and inquiry requests
•Participate as a privacy SME on project teams and committees
•Create or guide development of data flow diagrams and ensure privacy compliance
•Review data sharing agreements and inform on privacy implications
•Support privacy incident investigations and audit responses
•Deliver privacy training and support knowledge transfer to internal teams
Qualifications
•Minimum 5 years of experience in health privacy, including PIAs and privacy operations
•Proven experience developing privacy frameworks, policies, and controls
•Undergraduate or graduate degree in health, IT, law, policy, or security
•In-depth understanding of PHIPA, including HINP and ESP obligations
•Familiarity with EMR infrastructure, OMD certification, and data flow design
•Knowledge of API functionality, PKI, and digital health systems
•Strong documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
•Recognized security certification is an asset
•Experience working in health or IT project environments
