At Cascades, you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Tissue team as the Regional Operations Manager :
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, the General Manager is tasked with contributing to the development of the production strategy and ensuring its implementation. In collaboration with departments and center of expertise, you will ensure that a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety practices, quality management and customer focus is established and maintained. You will provide operational leadership in all your unit’s activities to engage your team members and support them in achieving objectives while ensuring that you exert a positive influence on costs, quality and delivery times.
- Ensure optimal execution of operations by achieving targets in terms of occupational health and safety, production capacity, standardization of operating costs and quality
- Engage and develop all your team members (Plant Managers)
- Collaborate in the development of a production strategy with the Executive Vice-President
- Support plant management in applying the production strategy to operations, supply chain and other functions
- Act as resource person in the application of Cascades processes and production execution processes in accordance with established business rules and good practices
- Support plant managers in setting performance standards (availability, efficiency, OEE)
- Serve as a strategic adviser to build, lead and supervise an operational team
- Actively participate in the creation and implementation of optimization and investment projects
- Contribute to the implementation of your business unit’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Senior Financial Director and the Sector Human Resources Manager

- Strong business management experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in Tissue Paper; an asset)
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Engineering or Pulp and paper.
- Willingness to travel (around 50% of the time) to multiple sites in the United States.
- Proven financial management skills and a strong ability to analyze financial performance, budgets and economic indicators
- Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence
- High level of integrity and business acumen that allows your strategic unit to position itself as a leader in the field
- Strong communication skills, tact and diplomacy
- Recognized talent in strategic management and business development, as well as in innovative planning
- Ability to surround yourself with the best talent
- Knowledge and experience to anticipate the future within the company’s overall context
- Excellent ability to build and support a customer-focused culture based on a people-centred approach
- Agility needed to work with various technological tools. Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)
