Title: Recovery Officer
Duration: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Oakville (Ford Dr and Sheridan Garden Dr intersection)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 1 day flexible
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually ( no commission )

Responsibilities
- Prepare recovery letters for tax/utility claims that have been paid out.
- Correspond and communicate with third-party collection agencies for additional recovery efforts.
- Promptly respond to voicemail and correspondence received from debtors.
- Communicate with tax/utility claims handlers to clarify processes and explore improvement opportunities.
- Negotiate amounts owed or payment plans where applicable.
- Post payments in relevant systems as required.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow all recovery processes.
- Manage inbound calls, emails, and other communications regarding claims recovery.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a recovery-related role (tax arrears, utility arrears, liens, or similar recovery experience preferred).
- Ability to handle difficult situations with a calm and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to negotiate and handle sensitive customer interactions.
- High school diploma required, post-secondary education in business or legal studies is an asset.
- Proficient in using office software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
