Property Claims Expert
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid work, with some in-office presence required)
Salary: $58,100 - $106,900 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Responsibilities
The tasks related to the Property Claims Expert position are:
Investigate, evaluate, and resolve large and complex property claims, including suspicious losses
Confirm policy coverage and ensure the facts of the claim fall within the scope of policies
Maintain detailed file records by entering pertinent data into appropriate systems
Coordinate with vendors and liaise with the SIU and SDQP teams when necessary
Manage settlement negotiations and assist with first-party litigation
Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior adjusters and colleagues
Identify opportunities for subrogation and salvage, ensuring all claim-related processes are in line with best practices
Handle specialized projects aimed at improving claims handling and the overall claims process
Engage in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) when necessary
Perform audits and assist in the development of training plans
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in property claims, including the handling of complex and large losses (commercial and personal)
Education: University degree or relevant college diploma; CIP designation is an asset
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of personal and commercial property claims, policy interpretation, and the ability to navigate internal systems and multiple platforms
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (Bilingualism is a plus)
Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams
Availability: Must be available to work full-time, including being available during operational hours and for occasional in-office meetings
