Responsibilities
• Project Planning and Management: Develop, define, and execute project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs, and deliverables. Ensure the project aligns with business goals and meets specifications and standards. Develop and maintain a roadmap for the project. Maintain an agile backlog, define requirements, and build stories.
• Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment. Ensure clear communication and coordination among project stakeholders, including development teams, QA analysts, data scientists, and business units. Lead regular status and delivery meetings composed of technical and non-technical team members. Collaborate and solution with other project managers within other teams the best ways of working.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders. Drive relevant stakeholder meetings and regularly communicate project status, risks, and changes to all relevant parties, ensuring expectations are aligned and informed decisions are made.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. Develop risk mitigation and contingency plans to ensure project continuity and success.
• Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project deliverables are met within timelines and budget constraints. Monitor project progress and adjust resources as needed.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies where applicable.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and presentations. Ensure stakeholders have access to current, accurate project information.
• Budget Management: Generate both standard and ad hoc delivery and budget reporting for the Data Office teams and leadership as requested;
• Consolidate and track the Data Office budget for project initiatives and oversee/facilitate the initiative estimation process.
Qualifications
• 6+ years of proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role, with a strong background in software development, data engineering, data analysis &/or data science.
• Excellent understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum), and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams towards achieving project goals.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting and holding workshops with groups comprised of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in stakeholder management, risk management, and change management strategies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• PMP &/or agile project management designation is an asset.
• Proven experience in managing project/team budgets.
