Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare cost estimates, approvals, work orders, and breakdown structures, ensuring accurate project baselines and effective performance tracking.
- Implement processes for managing project changes, monitoring trends, and addressing cost and scope issues proactively.
- Work with project teams to review and update project cost forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Conduct monthly variance analyses for cost and schedule, providing timely updates on budget discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure project cost reporting aligns with the approved budget and controls.
- Assist in updating cost estimates and ensure the most up-to-date data is reflected in the company’s financial system.
- Contribute to the preparation of the monthly capital executive summary analysis.
- Support the close-out process for completed projects.
- Ensure that effective cost controls are in place to manage project expenses.
- Participate in meetings to discuss project cost details.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure purchase orders and change orders are processed promptly, and that vendor invoices are handled efficiently.
- Review scope changes and change order requests to ensure proper justification, cost coding, and adequate budget.
- Assist in the review of invoices and the preparation of monthly accruals.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing project controls and systems.
- Assist with the implementation of new project control systems.
- Provide support for ad hoc project-related requests as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years + of experience in cost control and project accounting.
- Hands-on experience on project sites or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with cost control systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
