Responsibilities
•Implementing the company’s safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
•Having the primary duty of managing a Production department and the work of eight more Production associates
•Recommending the hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, and demotion of employees within the span of control.
•Resolving worker grievances/complaints or submitting unsettled grievances to next level of management for action.
•Planning production operations, while establishing priorities and sequencing for manufacturing products.
•Reviewing production scrap and operating reports and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and
prevent operational delays.
•Familiarity with 5s, KPI’s, problem investigation, standardized work, and auditing processes for compliance.
Qualifications
•High School Diploma.
•Proven experience working in a supervisory role in the metal manufacturing or plastics industry extrusion or injection
•A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced, continuous process Canadian manufacturing environment
•Previous experience managing and supervising in a non-union and union-represented environment is helpful.
